Here are some of the questions we often get about our shelters and services.

Do you offer financing and a warranty?
Yes! We make it easy to protect your family. We've partnered with Enhancify, a tool that helps you find the best financing option for your budget. You can compare plans and apply in minutes. Please see our financing page for more info. Every shelter comes with our warranty package that you can find here.
Do you have a showroom?
Not yet but it is a future goal for Calm AF Co. Right now we are a fully mobile business.
In the meantime, we have lots of photos and videos on our social media pages so you can see real installs and get a better feel for how your shelter will look. We also have our own personal shelter installed and would be happy to set up an appointment for you to come check it out in person. Fair warning- ours has been completely "glamified" with wallpaper and vinyl floors, so it may inspire you to get creative with yours too!
How long does it take to install a Storm Shelter?
Most shelter installations are completed within one day. Occasionally, an installation can take a little longer.
What area do you service?
We are based out of Clarksville, Tennessee but we service all of Tennessee. However, will be expanding our service area very soon so if you are in neighboring states, please reach out to see if we are available in your area.
Will I need a building permit to install my shelter?
Possibly. Permit requirements vary widely depending on your city and county. Contact your local building and codes department to find out. Getting a permit for our storm shelters may involve completing an application and or providing a plot plan with the tornado shelter location designated on the drawing. We are happy to assist you in this process.
How long is turn around time after I place my deposit?
We do our best to keep turnaround times quick. Typically between 3-4 weeks. However, timing can vary depending on weather, manufacturing schedules and seasonal demand but we will keep you updated every step of the way.
What happens if debris or the house falls on top of our shelter?
No worries! Our shelters are designed with your safety in mind. They're engineer-sealed and tested to withstand extreme debris impact, even if a house or heavy object lands on top. Once your shelter is installed you will need to register it with your local county or city so first responders know exactly where you are in the event of a disaster. For extra piece of mind, we offer jacks/pully systems you can purchase with your shelter for emergency use that allow you to open the door from the inside, even in the rare event that the door is blocked from the outside.
Can the tornado shelters be moved after they're installed?
Above ground units can be removed and reinstalled at a new location by Calm AF Co. for a fee as long as the new location is within our service area and unit is not damaged. Please note that the warranty valid from the date of the origonal installation and is void if the unit is moved by another installer or company. In-ground units can not be moved once installed.
Are the tornado shelters waterproof?
Tornado Shelters can not be completely sealed because proper ventilation is required for safety. Our outdoor shelters are weather-resistant and keep out rain under normal conditions. However, during extreme flooding events, some water could potentially enter the shelter.
Do the shelters have electricity or lighting?
Our shelters are not wired for electricity. This is intentional. Wiring a storm shelter can create additional risk during severe weather. Instead, we include battery powered lighting in the calm kit that comes with your selter so your family is safe, prepared and worry free without relying on your homes electrical system.
